In the first couple of weeks I thought I had post natal depression but it was baby blues. It would come on and off. I just found it so hard to adjust to being a mum. I was extremely tired. I was easily frustrated. It was so hard because I thought I needed to do it all by myself but there were people around me wanting to help – Don’t ever feel bad for accepting help!


In the first couple of weeks I was putting all of my time and energy into adjusting and being a Mum while Carter didn’t do much other than sleep. When he first smiled it just made every moment worth it. I finally got something back.


I learnt how to communicate so much better with my husband after having Carter. I tried to be more understanding of what HE was going through and communicated what I needed from him. He was more than happy to help once he understood what I needed from him.
